Abstract

The integration of advanced sensors has significantly transformed the capabilities of autonomous systems, enabling enhanced perception, decision-making, and environmental interaction. This article explores the critical role of various sensor technologies such as LiDAR, radar, cameras, and inertial measurement units (IMUs) in elevating the operational performance and safety of autonomous platforms. Emphasis is placed on sensor fusion strategies and data processing algorithms that synergistically combine multiple sensor inputs. Through a detailed analysis of sensor distribution, usage trends, and application-based efficiency, this study underscores the pivotal contribution of sensing technologies in shaping next-generation autonomous systems across industries like transportation, robotics, and manufacturing.
