Abstract

Cancer metastasis remains the most lethal aspect of tumor progression, responsible for over 90% of cancer-related deaths. This article investigates the critical molecular signaling pathways that drive metastasis, including PI3K/AKT, MAPK/ERK, TGF-β, Wnt/β-catenin, and NF-κB. These pathways regulate epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), angiogenesis, immune evasion, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Understanding these interconnected networks offers therapeutic potential in halting the metastatic cascade. This article presents an in-depth analysis of their roles, cross-talk, clinical relevance, and prospects for targeted interventions in Pakistani oncology research.
