Ecosystems are complex networks of interactions among living organisms (plants, animals, microbes) and their physical environment. Biodiversity, the variety of life in all its forms and levels of organization, plays a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem functions and services. This article explores the intricate relationships within ecosystems, the significance of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance, and the urgent need for sustainability in the face of global environmental challenges. We also examine the threats to biodiversity, such as habitat destruction and climate change, and propose sustainable practices to preserve ecosystem integrity for future generations.
